They make me smile.
Even today, as it begins to rain, they shine out there in the garden
and inside in the vase.

And then once they are inside where I can come upon them throughout the day, I'm glad
to have that bit of sun in the house.
Especially as it turns towards fall
and the sun is a little less strong
and present.
Summer fades, and the sunflowers bloom.

Oh, so beautiful. What a luxury to enough of them to pick some for the house. We can't grow them because the squirrels eat them before they can bloom. City squirrels are beasts.
